The Bishop’s Room

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the presence of the church in well-off homes was common. In the case of Vilar, it was much more evident due to the fact that there was a consecrated chapel inside the house. The bishop was treated with great consideration by the family, and his culinary refinements are legendary. This room was used by the bishop of the diocese when he came to celebrate a religious service.
