The maids’ room
The maids were very important to the running of the house, and unlike other employees, they lived and slept in the main house. Having maids gave an idea of how important the family was and how financially capable they were. The room they were given depended on the number of maids in the service, but was always very close to the other rooms in the house. It is said that the owner visited this room often, but this information has not been verified.
